The "Women's Improvement Committee" was established in 1965, and became the "Yacht Club Ladies" in 1975. It is now known as the “SYC Ladies”. All ladies are automatically members of the SYC Ladies and are urged to participate in our activities. The SYC Ladies gifts to the Club are an integral part of its beautification. As you walk around the Club observe the brass plaques noting the year the item was donated.
Our Ship's Store, a major fund-raising device, offers apparel and accessories for men, women and children. A majority of the items feature the Smyrna Yacht Club burgee as a symbol of our pride and enthusiasm for the Club.
Popular events on the SYC Ladies program calendar include a Dessert Card Party, Fashion Show, Gems & Jewels, Swim/Tiki Aerobics, Commodore's Lady Cocktail Party, Basket of Cheer, Silent Auction, Christmas Decorating and Tree Lighting of the Club. The proceeds generated by several of these events allow us to support our charter.
Please join the SYC Ladies at one of our meetings – or call the Club for additional information!
