Program begins at 12:00.

WATER AEROBICS BEGINS TUESDAY, MAY 13

Join us, ladies, as we begin the summer of relaxing, refreshing, low-impact water aerobics.  We have three classes a week: Tuesday and Thursday @ 10:30 and Wednesday @ 9:15.  Call Mrs. Lois Neufeld for more information.

MAY 17 ARMED FORCES DAY                                                                                We will be having a Poker Run and Tiki Party to celebrate our brave men and women who “fight for our right to party”.  Registration for the Poker Run begins at 2PM with the Run beginning at 3PM. We have several options for participation

1.     Take your own boat and fill it with all your friends

2.     Sign up at Receptionist Desk if you would like to ride in someone else’s boat

3.     If you don’t want to get wet you can play a hand “on land”, right at the Lanai @ the Tiki.

WARNING: IF YOU ARE IN A BOAT BE PREPARED TO GET WET

LARRY WELLER MOVING ON

Larry Weller, our dedicated maintenance man is leaving SYC after two years of service for a better position closer to home.  Larry brought loads of experience, a professional demeanor, and a pleasant personality to SYC.  We will miss him but we wish him well in his new job.

MEMBER INCENTIVE MEAL COMP PROGRAM                                             The Member Incentive Complimentary Meal Program has been a great success leading to 4 Membership applications and many individuals considering Summer Memberships.  Because of this success the Board of Governors has extended this Program through December 31, 2008.  The Meal Comp Plan allows members to bring two guests to dinner, lunch or a club party if they might have an interest in a Membership to the Club.  The club will “buy” their meals (the SYC member must cover the bar bill).  All we ask is that you assist us in following up on the guests’ interest in membership.  In order to participate in the Meal Comp Plan, you must call ahead and register these guests and get approval from the General Manager.  After that, all you need to do is come to the Club and enjoy yourself!!

SUMMER FUN

We are sending every SYC member the Information Sheet about our Summer Membership Program. We are not asking anyone to “sell a membership”.  We are asking if members know anyone who might enjoy the club for the summer, that you give them the Information sheet.  For $650 ($162.50 a month), they can use the swimming pool, go sailing, enjoy the Tiki Bar or attend a club party.  It’s the Best Deal in Town!!  Then, at the end of September they can say goodbye or perhaps they would decide to join us.  Either way, they can have a great SYC Summer

NOTE:  THE CASUAL DINING AREA WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE THE NEXT THREE SATURDAYS: MAY 10, 17 AND 24 DUE TO PRIVATE FUNCTIONS.

COOKIES FOR SALE

Several members have requested cookies for sale at the club.  We now have one large chocolate chip cookie (the size of two regular cookies) for sale at $1.50 each.  We want to start with everyone’s favorite cookie before we offer a variety.  When we determine our demand then we may produce more cookies with minimal waste.

NEW MENU COVERS

On several Friday evenings recently we have not had enough menus for all guests.  We are buying new menu covers so this problem will “go away” soon.  We apologize for any inconvenience.

CASUAL ATMOSPHERE RETURNS

Jackets are no longer required in the dining room on Friday and Saturday nights in the Dining Room.  With casual attire and our new casual menu available life at SYC just got SIMPLER!!!

See you at the Club!!
