Waiting List for Dock Space

Updated 8/6/2010.

Dockage requests are prioritized based on the time of submittal. Moves are considered (taking facility utilization into consideration) ahead of new requests.

Dock Rules concerning the waiting list:

1. Any member desiring dockage for their boat in a slip at Smyrna Yacht Club (SYC) shall complete and submit a "DOCKAGE APPLICATION" to the club office. A member may submit an application if he/she owns a boat or is planning to purchase a boat in the near future. Submission of the application secures a position on the "Waiting List" for dockage. It represents a commitment on the part of the member that he/she has a serious intent to accept an appropriate slip when it becomes available and to occupy the assigned slip within the required time limit.

2. Slip assignment priority will be based upon the date the above application is received in the office for delivery to the Dock Committee Chairman. The Dock Committee Chairman maintains and posts a "Waiting List" which contains the names of members waiting for slips so that it is accessible to all interested members.

3. If a member is offered and accepts a slip, he/she must occupy the slip within 60 days. The Dock Committee Chairman may extend this time due to hardship (i.e. transportation problems, dealer delivery problems, necessary repairs, etc.). Slip rental fees will commence on the date that the slip is assigned.

4. Before occupying a slip, the member must complete and sign a "DOCKING AGREEMENT" available in the club office, and provide proof of $300,000 minimum liability insurance via a "Binder" executed by a licensed insurance broker.

5. If a member is offered a slip and declines it or fails to occupy an assigned slip within the above time limit, that member shall lose their position of priority and be considered as the most current addition to the "Waiting List", unless justified in writing and accepted by the Dock Committee Chairman.
